CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A man is behind bars, accused of making threats toward another person.
Court documents said Aiden Leibowitz used social media to send messages with him holding an assault rifle, threatening another person. The documents go on to say that Leibowitz mentioned the University of Charleston as well, while making threats to the victim.
“It’s definitely very unsettling to think about,” said Em Williams. “I feel like any type of threat, especially a gun threat, that’s very alarming.”
Both Charleston Police and the university said the two people involved were not students at the school. The university also said they were not employees.
CPD also said no threat was made toward the university itself.
