A 19-year-old Rutgers University student remains hospitalized after being found unresponsive at a residence in New Brunswick, authorities announced Friday, Oct. 17.

At 12:26 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Rutgers police responded to a disconnected 9-1-1 call and found the student injured and unresponsive, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop said.

The 19-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition, authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
