SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Thousands of people are arriving in South Bend ahead of Notre Dame’s big rivalry matchup against USC on Saturday night, but inclement weather could impact the fan experience.
Many Notre Dame and USC fans tell WNDU 16 News Now they plan to begin tailgating when gates open at 8 a.m. Though the weather should be clear and calm throughout the morning, thunderstorms are projected to begin in the afternoon.
Officials at Notre Dame say if sustained winds reach 35 miles per hour or gusts exceed 45 miles per hour, fans must take down all tents and other tailgating equipment.
