Throughout the government shutdown, we have seen the ups and downs across U.S. National Parks. Rocky Mountain National Park is rising to the occasion, replacing park rangers in the best way possible , with a mix of volunteers and members of the Rocky Mountain Conservancy group.

Efforts to maintain the park are ongoing, with a volunteer cleanup scheduled for the upcoming weekend on October 18 and October 19.

However, the reality hasn't been as positive as at other national parks. At Yosemite, panic is setting in as the park is being called a "lawless playground." We have seen a few examples of current staff and visitors sounding the alarm about the park's current condition.

However, the Department of the Interior doesn't share that view.
