Several UTC student members of Civic Engagement protested today in response to Turning Point USA becoming a chapter on campus. However, both organizations came to an understanding.

Turning Point's president and Civic Engagement's president did have a respectful conversation. Both found a common ground on freedom of speech.

Civic Engagement is a student group that prides itself on peaceful protests. Freshman Jack Morgan, a member of Civic Engagement, says, "We serve here on the principles of justice, truth, and human rights."

The organization hosted a Picnic for Peace on Chamberlain Field. This event was to combat the hate they believe is coming from UTC's Turning Point USA chapter.
