CHESTERFIELD, S.C. (WBTV) - Leaders across Chesterfield County came together on Friday to address crime among young people in the area. Several leaders at the meeting said they’ve seen more crime move out of their areas and into the county.

An increase in crime among young people in Chesterfield County has leaders looking for a joint solution. Many met to discuss a county-wide curfew plan that they hope will lessen crime and hold parents accountable.

“It was a little smaller town back then, and today you know there’s a lot more industry that’s in town, and yeah, there’s a bit more crime here,” said Jan McRae who gew up in Cheraw.
