HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - A series of smash-and-grab burglaries in Huntsville came to an end early Friday.
Huntsville Police Department officers responded to a break-in Monday at a business on the 1400 block of Memorial Parkway. The suspect had smashed the glass door and stolen merchandise. By Wednesday, three more businesses were hit in a similar fashion, all selling the same type of items. Police have not identified the type of merchandise.
With help from the North Alabama Multi-Agency Crime Center, investigators identified the suspect as Gregory Antwon McCreary, 37, of Huntsville. They obtained video footage and a vehicle tag number linked to all four crime scenes.
About 1:30 a.m. Friday, officers stopped McCreary's vehicle on University Drive. Inside, they found evidence connecting him to
