MINNEAPOLIS — If you've watched some of the Minneapolis mayoral debates, you've probably noticed Brenda Short.
Although she trails the other four major candidates significantly in campaign cash and endorsements, Short said she actually prefers it that way.
"I intentionally did not ask to be endorsed by anyone except for community members and small businesses," Short said. "If I don't have any endorsements, then I don't have anyone to answer to besides the community members and small business owners."
Originally from Iowa, Short also describes herself as a small business owner and said she was initially spurred to run for office by the killing of Justine Damond in 2017.
