WASHINGTON — The No Kings Day pre-rally at the Lincoln Memorial aimed at getting people excited about Saturday's event, according to organizers.
People who attended Friday afternoon's rally held signs that said "no kings" and "impeach Trump." They chanted along with speakers who stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and shared their messages.
Some of the speakers included furloughed federal workers as well as U.S. Army veterans. They talked about fighting back for this country's democracy and against the current administration.
WUSA9 spoke to people from all over the country, as well as native Washingtonians. One woman from Northwest D.C. wanted to remain anonymous, but she wanted to share why she felt compelled to come to the pre-rally.
