DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham community nonprofit is working on a plan for what the city and county could look like in the next two decades.
Durham Next is made up of local officials and community leaders. The group is operated by Discover Durham, the tourism development authority, and just released its first annual report.
The key vision for Durham Next: "Durham will be the most welcoming, inclusive, innovative and vibrant destination in the United States, while thoughtfully honoring its history and people."
The nonprofit is currently focused on the implementation of a Destination Master Plan, identifying several projects that aim to attract visitors and boost the economy by 2044.
