CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A parking lot at the Franklin Apartments that had been dark for a year now has working lights after Cleveland Public Power restored service.
The apartment complex at the corner of Franklin Boulevard and West 117th Street had been without parking lot lighting for approximately one year, according to resident Manuel Smith.
“Every night, I hope there’s nobody out there and I can just feel safe,” Smith said. “Last winter, I fell twice, you can’t see the black ice or anything.”
Smith provided a video showing how dark the parking lot became at night without the lights.
After 19 News contacted Cleveland Public Power about the issue, the lights were restored within a week.
Smith shared a photo showing the illuminated parking lot.
