GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —

A one-of-a-kind program in Greenville County is creating ripples of hope for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to learn lifesaving swim techniques and gain confidence in the water.

Aqua Angels is a nonprofit organization offering inclusive, affordable and accessible swim lessons, water safety, and lifesaving certifications.

On Saturday, the group will be partnering with Platypus Adventures to host the Upstate's first "Adaptive Swim Meet," where 40 athletes between the ages of 4 and 18 will compete. Proceeds from sponsorships and fundraising donations will benefit the Waves of Ability program , which provides partial and full scholarships for children and adults with special needs.
