PORTLAND, Ore. — A 24-year-old man who shot and killed two brothers outside a strip mall nearly two years ago has been sentenced to life in prison.

A judge sentenced Jobanpreet Singh on Friday to life imprisonment on a second-degree murder charge, with the possibility of parole after 25 years. Singh was also sentenced, for his separate first-degree manslaughter charge, to a consecutive 10 years. His total prison time is 35 years before he is eligible for a parole hearing, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.

The shooting happened on May 3, 2023, on Southwest Barbur Boulevard, where Singh called police to report that he had shot two men, 33-year-old Dilrajpal Singh and 27-year-old Guriqbal Singh . The two men were brothers, but not related to Jobanpreet Sing
