Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna admitted Middlesbrough deserved their win over his side, as he delivered a very honest verdict on the game.

Boro got back to winning ways at the Riverside on Friday evening, courtesy of a 2-1 win over the Tractor Boys . Morgan Whittaker scored his first goal for the club to double Boro’s lead after the break, with Cedric Kipre scoring an unfortunate own goal just before half-time.

Darragh O’Shea’s late header had given McKenna’s side a lifeline late on, but Boro managed to dig deep in the final ten minutes to get over the line. Reflecting on a chaotic game that saw missed sitters and saved penalties, McKenna was honest about his side’s merit in the game.
