A Margate chef has emphasised the importance of consistency and self discipline after taking home an award at a prestigious national competition. Craig Edgell is the head chef at the Buoy and Oyster and, after years of hard work and dedication, has netted himself an incredible accolade at the Craft Guild of Chefs' National Chef of the Year competition.

This is the second time Craig has found himself among the 10 finalists of the hotly contested awards, having ranked among them in 2024 after placing in the top 40 in the two years prior. On Tuesday, October 7, the winners of the competition were revealed and Craig proudly received the National Chef Of The Year Best Presentation Award 2026.
