Nottingham Forest have sacked Ange Postecoglou.

Postecoglou was only appointed at the City Ground at the start of September to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.

But owner Evangelos Marinakis has wielded the axe after just eight matches.

Postecoglou went into Saturday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea amid uncertainty over his future.

They had lost five and drawn two of his seven fixtures in charge ahead of facing Chelsea - and lost 3-0 to the Blues at the City Ground.

Forest will now begin the search for a new manager.
