HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two upper-level disturbances are currently set up around the island chain, one moving away to our west and another just to the northeast. The second disturbance will move closer to us over the next week, increasing the chance of showers.

Overall, expect an increased chance of showers over the next seven days. Increased moisture riding along the trade winds and the low pressure near the state will increase the chance for showers. The threat of thunderstorms, however, is decreasing as instability across the state is forecasted to weaken during the first half of the next work week.
