Over 200 Emporia peaceful protesters took to the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Commercial Street with signs to participate in the second No Kings Protest this year late Saturday morning.
According to the official website, No Kings protests aim to spark conversations and speak out about democracy and challenging President Donald Trump’s administration nationwide. The first No Kings Protest was hosted on June 14, and Saturday’s protests carried on the message of concern for President Trump’s policies.
Chuck Torres, one of the organizers of the Emporia No Kings protest, said that the gathering sends a peaceful message that the constitution must be honored.
