Miguel Solorio Renterio, 53, of Emporia, has been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with a vehicle fire that occurred early Saturday morning, near 10 South Neosho Street.
Fire crews received a call at 5:28 a.m. Saturday morning for a reported vehicle fire near West South Avenue and Neosho Street. According to the Emporia Fire Department, the fire was quickly extinguished, and Emporia Fire Department Fire Investigators began an investigation.
Investigators concluded that the fire was intentionally set and incendiary in nature. Renterio was taken into custody and the case has been referred to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office for formal charges. No more information is expected to be released at this time.
