ST PAUL, Minn. — Dozens of 'No Kings' rallies were held statewide Saturday, with one at 7th Street West & Lexington Parkway South in Saint Paul drawing hundreds of demonstrators.
The busy intersection was filled with protesters calling for change and warning of what they described as a dangerous concentration of presidential power.
“I am here because this is the most terrifying exertion of executive power,” said Audie Black.
Organizers said the rally was launched by local seniors, many of whom said they fear for future generations.
“I worry for my grandchildren — what is this country gonna be?” said Bobbi Schribman, who described Social Security, Medicare, democracy, education and the health care system as being at risk.
Others along the roadway echoed the concerns.
