PHOENIX — Recent rainfall across the Phoenix area has brought in unwelcomed visitors: mosquitoes.
Maricopa County's Vector Control Division is spraying areas across the Valley for increased mosquito activity and employees at many pest control companies are working overtime to respond to the growing need amongst residents.
Dr. Gary Kirkilas, a pediatrician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, says he has been seeing many parents coming in with concerns about mosquito bites on their kids.
"We're definitely experiencing the throes of it right now," Kirkilas said.
Kirkilas says one of the big questions he often gets is when to see a doctor. He said many children have hypersensitive reactions within a couple of hours of getting bitten. It's when small bites begin to grow in size over the course
