Dear Reader: What is quiet cracking and how can you prevent it?

Recently, I did a radio interview and was asked about quiet cracking, the workplace trend when you hit the point of no return when you’re just done, mentally checked out, disengaged, dissatisfied and unhappy.

It can be the predecessor to quiet quitting, which happens when you intentionally do the bare minimum at work. At one point during the conversation, I got a little tongue-tied and called it “quiet quacking,” which basically combines both terms.
