Dylan Wrona ran for a touchdown and threw for a score in the second quarter as Don Bosco Prep, No. 1 in the NJ.com Top 20, closed the first half strong to pull away and defeat Seton Hall Prep, 40-7, at Brendan P. Tevlin Memorial Field in West Orange.
Wrona, a junior, broke a 7-all tie when he scored on a 1-yard QB keeper with 3:41 left in the first half, capping off a 12-play, 91-yard drive for Don Bosco Prep (7-0).
The lead expanded to 16-7 with Robert Ekins’ sack of Ty Newcomb in the end zone for a safety. From there, after the ensuing free kick, Wrona delivered the exclamation point to a six-play, 46-yard drive when he connected with Zakai Murphy for an 8-yard TD with 24 seconds remaining.
