An unoccupied house collapsed Saturday evening in Buxton, according to Cape Hatteras National Seashore .

The house was located at 46006 Cottage Avenue.

Weeks ago, nine Outer Banks houses fell into the ocean, with five falling in the same hour. Out of the nine that fell, eight were in Buxton. Since 2020 , 22 houses in total have fallen due to accelerated beach erosion in both Rodanthe and Buxton .
