OMAHA, Neb. —

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Women's Center for Advancement hosted a walk and rally to help the cause in Omaha.

On average, 51 domestic violence 911 calls are placed in Douglas County daily, but for Tyvon Merritt, he said he is focused on helping to make it one less caller.

"If I could just help get the resources and information to even just one person, for this event that may need it or to, to provide some type of, support for anyone who's been in that situation, not just anyone in general. If I can get just one person to help out, I'm good," he said.
