WEST VALLEY CITY — A man who died Saturday night in a head-on crash has been identified.

Peni Palei, 69, rear-ended a vehicle, then fled and hit another vehicle in a head-on collision and died in that second crash, the West Valley Police Department confirmed on X .

The fatality happened on 3100 South, police said.

Other drivers involved in the collisions suffered only minor injuries.
