If the sixth game of the Maple Leafs’ season seemed a tad early for a post-game calling out of teammates, you’ll understand why Anthony Stolarz sounded beyond fed up Saturday night.

Speaking to reporters in the wake of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Seattle Kraken, the Maple Leafs goaltender took general aim at his team’s lack of effort during the opening two periods. “We kind of let ‘em walk all over us,” he said. He also fired a hyper-specific shot at William Nylander after Seattle’s Josh Mahura skated by a listless Nylander on a simple give-and-go and beat Stolarz for the game-winner.

“It’s overtime, you can’t let someone beat you up the ice there and get a clear-cut breakaway,” Stolarz said. “You want to be on the ice in that situation, you got to work hard, got to get back.”
