Giving a Diwali gift to sugarcane farmers, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced an increase in the support price of sugarcane, claiming that this is an historic step as Haryana now offers the highest sugarcane price in the country in order to enhance farmers’ income and ensuring their economic prosperity.

As per the announcement, the rate of the early variety of sugarcane has been increased from Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 415 per quintal and the rate of the late variety has been raised from Rs 393 per quintal to Rs 408 per quintal.
