Honolulu police have opened a first-degree robbery investigation after a 20-year-old man was reportedly assaulted and threatened with a handgun in Aiea late Saturday night.
Police said the incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of a residence on Pali Momi Street, where the man and a 17-year-old female were confronted by four males. One suspect allegedly brandished a black handgun and demanded the victim’s gold chain while others assaulted him.
Bystanders intervened, and the suspects fled in lowered pickup trucks without the chain. The male victim sustained bruises and abrasions, while the female was not injured.
