Elections Calgary gave media outlets a behind-the-scenes look at the operation inside a massive vote-counting centre on Sunday — the eve of the first municipal election to take place under new provincial rules requiring all municipal ballots to be counted by hand.

Located inside the Big Four Roadhouse building at Stampede Park, the centre will serve as the site for counting all advance voting ballots, mail-in votes and some ballots cast for Calgary Catholic School Board trustee races.
