ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) reported that a person was shot during a hunting trip in Anderson County.

Officials said on Saturday October 18, a hunter was struck by a stray bullet. Following an investigation, authorities said the bullet recovered was not consistent with ammunition used by hunters.

SCDNR believes the incident resulted from a stray round fired by someone target practicing. Officers are still working to determine where the bullet came from.

Officials said the victim is expected to make a full recovery.

This remains under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
