A grass fire just off the San Diego (405) Freeway near the Howard Hughes Parkway exit was knocked down by responders Sunday.
A patch of grass and trees were reported on fire at 4:38 p.m. Sunday and was knocked down just after 5 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Companies were sent to mop up and contain the burned area.
The California Highway Patrol closed the southbound exit ramp while the grass was being handled by responders.
It was unclear how the fire ignited.
No injuries were reported.
