PORTLAND, Ore. — Firefighters rescued three people who were trapped in two vehicles that went over an embankment in Northwest Portland on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:26 p.m. on Northwest Marina Way near Northwest St. Helens Road.
Both cars went over the embankment about 20 feet, trapping the occupants inside, in an area with difficult access, Portland Fire & Rescue told KGW.
It took about 15 minutes for firefighters to free the victims who were trapped in the cars with a range of injuries, though none were critical, officials said.
A technical rescue team was on the way but was not needed. Other firefighters assisted with the rescue and provided medical care before the patients were transferred to ambulances.
