Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Hartford early Sunday morning involving the death of a man and woman.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Franklin Avenue around 5:10 a.m. Sunday on a citizen report of a shooting, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department .

Officers located a woman, identified as 33-year-old Cynthia Jiminez-Pacheco, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a man, identified as 33-year-old Joel Martinez, suffering from a gunshot wound in the rear stairwell of the building, Boisvert said.

Jiminez-Pacheco was transported to Hartford Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to Boisvert. Martinez was pronounced dead on the scene.
