A Fayetteville council member faces a challenge from a first-time candidate for his Fayetteville City Council District 9 seat.
Incumbent Deno Hondros, who was first elected in 2022 when he ousted incumbent Yvonne Kinsto n, will face Joe McGee, who has never run for office before, in the Nov. 4 general election. The two men were the top vote-getters in the Oct. 7 primary election , with Hondros receiving 60.44% of the vote and McGee 21.41%. A third candidate, Gary A. Hunt, received 18.15% of the vote.
