An Alabama father and his two young daughters were killed after their plane crashed deep in the wilderness of Montana.

The small plane carrying pilot Mark Anderson, 62, and his daughters, Lainey, 22, and Ellie, 17, went down on Friday at around 4:30 p.m. in a remote area of Bob Marshall Wilderness, People reported.

Powell County Sheriff Gavin Roselles wrote in a press release that radar contact with the aircraft was lost over a remote section of the 1.5-million-acre Bob Marshall Wilderness, prompting the deployment of air resources from Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls for a search that extended until midnight. 3

The plane was located by a volunteer aircraft operating under the Montana Department of Transportation Aeronautics division the following day at around 9 a.m.
