The Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority reviewed a budget draft on Tuesday that suggests a favorable outlook for 2026, despite conservative predictions about revenue and aggressive predictions about spending.

The draft presented by Airport Director of Finance and Administration Sarah Menge showed an expected revenue bump of at least 2% above the current year, which has already broken records with unusually high firefighting air traffic, flight diversion numbers, and some monthly passenger counts.

“There’s just a really great trajectory for our airport, showing that we really are a place that people want to fly out of,” Menge said. “Even though we are being extremely conservative, we still see an uptick in revenue, even though we are, right now, budgeting for a decrease in activity.
