OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio -- Two years after adding license plate reader (LPR) cameras throughout the community, the Olmsted Falls police department recently added an additional Flock unit at the Bagley Road and Brentwood Drive intersection.
“We’re finding that we are getting consistent hits for various things -- and it’s not just warrants, suspended licenses and the historically common law-enforcement things,” Olmsted Falls Police Chief Odis B. Rogers said. “It’s also Amber Alerts, Silver Alerts.
“We used it once to help locate a missing and endangered adult elderly female. We were able to track through the Flock system out on the far east side. So these cameras have been a really good tool for us. I’m appreciative of City Council and the mayor for getting these cameras into our city.”
