A Kent councillor suspended by Reform UK has spoken out following the release of a controversial leaked video. Councillor Maxine Fothergill is one of four who have had the party whip removed.

This comes after The Guardian released a leaked video showing Kent County Council leader Linden Kemkaran swearing, raising her voice and treatening to mute a colleague during a chaotic virtual meeting held in August.

Ms Kemkaran told members a "thorough investigation is already under way to find those who released the video.

Cllr Fothergill told KentLive she 'strongly denies' allegations that she was the source of the leaked video. She said: "I strongly deny these allegations that I was the source of the leaked video reported in The Guardian this weekend.
