Similar to the other national parks around the United States, Zion National Park has joined the likes of the Great Smoky Mountains in finding creative ways to stay open during the government shutdown.
Although parks have stayed open, concerns are starting to grow.
Yosemite National Park, for instance, is being called a "lawless playground."
The U.S. Department of the Interior has pushed back on the concerns, claiming that the current reported issues are "misinformation."
At Zion National Park, visitors continue to access the park, with thousands showing up on the weekend. Although the park remains open, Zion cannot collect fees at the entrance due to the government shutdown. Because of this, Zion volunteer groups have left a sign at the entrance of the visitor center.
