WASHINGTON — Ring is expanding the reach of its Community Requests feature through a new collaboration with public safety software firm Flock Safety, the Amazon-owned home security company announced.

Community Requests is a feature where public safety agencies can ask Ring users in their area to share their camera footage to help them collect evidence for a crime they are investigating. It has already been available for agencies using the Axon Enterprise platform.

The new partnership will allow law enforcement agencies that use Flock’s Nova platform or FlockOS system to submit Community Requests directly through Ring’s system, giving officers another way to request video footage from local Ring camera owners for use in investigations.
