JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — A southern Indiana candy store is set to celebrate its sweet success this November.

Schimpff’s Confectionery in downtown Jeffersonville has marked its 134th anniversary and will host a public celebration on Nov. 7.

It will also mark three milestones for the business – being named “Best Candy Store in America,” Warren and Jill Schimpff owning and operating the business for 35 years and passing the torch to their cousin Steve Shepherd, who is a 5th generation candy maker.

The celebration features a look back at the evolution of the business with remarks from Mayor Mike Moore, live music and a ribbon cutting. The family says it is a chance for them to say thank you to their customers and friends they have met over the years.
