LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - First responders were called to a two-vehicle crash northeast of Beatrice Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire and Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the crash.

Authorities said the driver of a sport utility vehicle traveling South 10th Road and the driver of a pickup traveling East Hickory Road crashed next to corn fields that had not yet been harvested.

Deputies said that standing corn at the southwest corner of the intersection may have obstructed the view of the drivers. Both drivers were checked over by medical personnel at the scene and released. Both were wearing seatbelts during the collision.
