COVENTRY, Conn. (WFSB) - A Hartford man has died after a late night crash in Coventry on Sunday.

State police say 38-year-old Axel Antonio Santos-Reyes was driving on Route 6 westbound near the intersection with Route 66 in Coventry when he lost control trying navigate a left hand curve at a high rate of speed.

Santos-Reyes lost control of his car, sliding off the right shoulder of the roadway and striking a drainage culvert and rock ledge.

Santos-Reyes’s car then rolled over several times, landing on its roof. He was ejected from the car while it rolled.

He was pronounced dead on scene.
