WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - Emergency crews responded to a medical emergency at a church in Waterbury on Monday morning.

At around 7:16 a.m. officers were called to Our Lady of Lebanon Church located on Hamilton Avenue after a report of a man who fell from scaffolding, the police department said.

It was revealed that the individual had accidently fallen from about 16 feet.

Officials have identified the man as 65-year-old Alair Rosa Deoliveira of Danbury.

He suffered a serious head injury and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police said he has died due to the extent of injuries.

No further details were released.
