CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Cedar Rapids is asking for feedback from the community on the city’s animal shelter.
The request comes as part of a review of the facility’s operations after two failed state inspections earlier this summer, staffing shortages and a lawsuit from the former manager.
The inspector said they found ongoing concerns with the roof leaking and a mold infestation in the building. The inspector went on to say the city had “abandoned” their responsibility to maintain the structure.
Recommendations will be based on feedback from residents and community members. A presentation reviewing the draft is expected at a City Council meeting before the end of the year.
The survey opens on October 20 and will close on October 31. For more information, click here .
