PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania Representative is aiming to designate October as "Italian and Italian American History and Culture Month" in Pennsylvania.

Rep. Marla Brown is aiming to highlight the legacy of Italians and Italian-Americans and promote awarnesness to their traditions and history with her resolution. Brown argued that Italians and Italian-Americans have made "significant contributions culturally, socially and economically to the Commonwealth."

Furthermore, since 1989, the month of Ocober has been recognized nationally as Italian American Heritage month. Brown's resolution only pertains to October 2025.
