JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Washington state man is facing charges after he allegedly planned to meet a 13-year-old for sexual relations.

Robert Wheeler, 56, of Spokane, was charged after a predator hunter group came forward to Brookville Borough Police about a man communicating sexually with one of their decoy teens, according to a criminal complaint. On Oct. 17, officers spoke with the 814 Pred Hunters who confirmed that a man had been texting with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl and had made plans to meet her for sex.

Messages turned over to police allegedly showed that the decoy had told Wheeler her age and that he continued to speak with her, eventually turning the conversation towards sexual topics. The affidavit lists March 17 as the day Wheeler started talking to the
