SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Nearly 200 students enrolled in Drury University’s Springfield Promise Program for fall classes, the university announced.
Drury launched the Springfield Promise Program just over a year ago to help students afford college costs.
The program offers a $2,000 scholarship to any admitted student in an out-of-county area of the Ozarks. It also caps out-of-pocket expenses for tuition and student fees for commuters who qualify for Pell grants.
The enrollment figures show the program’s growth in its second year of operation.
More than 40 high schools are represented in the first DSP class. Most are from the immediate Springfield-Greene County area.
