BEAUMONT, Texas — Early voting is underway for the November general election , and Beaumont voters are facing a lengthy ballot filled with statewide and local decisions.

In addition to 17 proposed state constitutional amendments, Beaumont’s ballot includes five city bond propositions and a hotel venue tax. City leaders are encouraging residents to review sample ballots before heading to the polls to avoid confusion.

“It’s especially complicated this time because not only do we have state propositions but we have this local bond issue,” said Beaumont voter Carol Flatten. “You need to pick up a sample ballot and read it and study it and discuss the pros and cons.”

Sample ballots are available online , at the Beaumont City Clerk’s Office, and at the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office. Vote
